When the fan is on it pulls household air into the return air vent (ground outer screen), dust is captured in the disposable collector filter and remaining particles (contaminants) pass through the electrostatic filter (high voltage centre screen) changing the state of the particle; it is this change that attracts the particle to the outer (disposable collector) filter. Any particle that makes it through this filter process is returned back to it's natural state via the grounded outer screen.The particle can travel air borne once again, giving it ample opportunity to travel through the filter process and be eliminated. The more the fan is on, the more particles the Essa air purifier can capture and the fresher air you will have!
